The classic GATS jar is used prior to every flight to sample fuel. Quickly determine fuel type (by color), water, and solid debris that can affect flight.
Common fuel colorings:
- Avgas 80 octane color = Red
- Avgas 100 octane color = Green
- Avgas 100LL octane color = Blue
- Jet Fuel color = clear or straw color
