On May 20-21, 1927, Lindbergh, aboard the Spirit of St. Louis, made a historic 33.5-hour solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean, covering a distance of approximately 3,600 miles. This remarkable feat not only won Lindbergh the prestigious Orteig Prize but also marked a pivotal moment in aviation history, demonstrating the potential of long-distance air travel.
